It been 16 days post surgery and I've had a very positive experience with my procedure. The whole process is very well organized from my first contact to TJ Hair Clinic until today. I didn't have any safety concerns in Tijuana. I read a lot of reviews before I went and I can't really add to what was said as they accurately reflect what I've experienced. I would recommend TJ Hair Clinic for anyone looking for hair restoration.

It's been approximately 4 months since my second hair transplant surgery and I couldnt be happier with my progress. My first transplant was 2 years ago and was so happy with the growth and density in the front I had to come back for a second procedure for the back of my head and a beard transplant as well. I've returned every 30 days to get my PRP treatments to maximize the results and the staff have always been pleasant and professional. Highly recommend this clinic

Absolutely top shelf from beginning to end... the facility is sleek, modern and hi-tech. Ultimately the service at TJ was far more detailed, comprehensive and PAIN FREE than my previous treatment, and at a fraction of the cost — with added benefits such as stem cells, red light therapy, driver service, meals, private room and more. The staff here truly make the experience a memorable one and I am 100 percent thankful that I chose Mexico over Turkey. Don't sleep on TJ.

Had a hair transplant and love the results. Driver was excellent and staff did a great job. Going back for 2nd transplant for crown. Stick to well known areas within TJ and you will be fine.

The technique

What is a beard transplant?

A beard transplant is a facial hair restoration procedure. The physician extracts individual follicular units from the donor area and implants them into the beard, mustache, goatee, sideburns or jawline.

Once healed and grown, the transplanted hairs can be trimmed and shaved like natural facial hair. Full results take time and vary by patient.

Who is it for?

A beard transplant may help patients with:

Patchy beard growth.
Thin cheek density.

Mustache gaps.
Goatee gaps.
Scars in the beard area.
Weak jawline definition due to limited facial hair.
Uneven beard shape.

Planning, not just adding hair

Beard design

A good beard transplant should not simply add hair everywhere. It should create a facial hair pattern that fits the patient's face. Planning includes:

Where the hair comes from

Donor hair

Donor hair is usually taken from the back of the scalp near the lower donor zone. The physician selects follicles that can work well for facial hair texture, direction and density. The number of grafts depends on the size of the area:

Cheeks and jawline800–1,500 grafts

FAQ

Beard FAQ

Is a beard transplant painful?

Local anesthesia is used during the procedure. Some pressure or discomfort may happen, but the procedure should not feel like active pain. Mild swelling or tenderness can occur afterward.

Can I shave after a beard transplant?

Yes, once the area has healed and the clinic clears you. Early shaving can disturb healing, so follow instructions.

Will the transplanted beard hair fall out?

Many transplanted hairs shed in the first few months. This is expected. New growth typically begins around month three or four.

Where does the hair come from?

Most beard transplant donor hair comes from the back of the scalp. The physician selects grafts based on quality and availability.
